62 Strat RI question

What would you guys recommend for a '62 Strat RI? I am probably looking at Antiquity Surfers or Fralin Blues Specials (?). This guitar will probably be used for alternate tunings like open C or one of the slide tunings. I kinda want a slightly hot vintage sound like Rory Gallagher. Also checked the website for Bare Knuckles. Anybody have any experience with those/

If I were gonna go for a "stock" Duncan I'd go for Surfers in the neck and middle and a twangbanger in the bridge. I would also look into Chubtones. Personally if I were about to order a set if Strat pickups I'd call MJ and go Custom Shop! Both of myu number one Fenders (one Strat and opne Tele) have CS Duncans in them and I couldn't be happier with the tone of either of those guitars!

MJ is making a Custom Broadcaster set for me for the '52 RI, but that is one of my front line guitars. My number one Strat will continue to be the '54. The '62 is probably going to be a special purpose guitar like the Mexi-Tele. One for slide and one for alternate tunings. Wonder what would happen if i put the Texas Hots in the '62 and put the high zoot pickups in the '54? Is it sacrilege to put "50's" pickups in a "60's" axe?
