Question Does Tele with phase switch equal 4-way switch?

I was looking at the schematichttp://www.seymourduncan.com/website...ele_phase.html on the site. I was wondering why a Tele with a phase switch on the bridge PUP. Would that give you the the added option of the PUPs in series that you canget with a 4 way switch?

No...not the same. Out of phase, the two pickups will have that thin, pinched tone...not the higher output and fatter tone of the two in series. lew

if you want that its better to get 4 wire humbuckers, then the extra switch will treat them as single coils, and yeah, then you get...however many different sounds that equals
