I don't know about others...but I see this as very very good news! I don't see anything about the Joe Perry strat bridge pickup though![]()

Now, now, who knows how interesting this could be! Hopefully they'll get some more of his pups all the way here too. I wonder what'll happen to the prices of the earlier models.
There are two kinds of people in this world that go around beardless—boys and women, and I am neither one

if the pups sound the same as the old ones there should be a massive price drop on the older ones(lew might get angry for paying so much). I'm not a vinatge guy, but all who tryed the Bardens raved about them so i guess it's pretty cool to have the cmopany back up(like Kahler Trems)

The price on the webpage appears to be around $170 a pup.
I can imagine two groups of folks who might be upset:
1. Those who dropped 500-600 on a set, and . . .
2. Those who were holding on to them, hoping for the price to climb higher.

Yup . . . but as T4D alluded to, how long before we start seeing "vintage" Bardens on eBay?Originally Posted by 9finger

Yep, and the second crop are the guys that will start the "Belief wars".... it´s happened with every brand so far that has "died and returned", such as Charvel and Kahler (though CHarvel never "died" in that sense...)Originally Posted by ArtieToo

I was ready to try the SD version, so no brainer on ordering at least 1 strat delux right now-
Now that the supply issues have gone away, anyone looking for clean clear to dirty strat really need to give the delux s a try- It's clear and articlate on the clean side, warms up nicely (slightly less than a cool rail), and did I mention spin-a-split? Almost like a vari-tone quack producer in 2 and 4-
What a great day!

I was hunting around for a post made in December(?) about using a Spin-a-Split control with a Joe Barden (strat?) pickup... was that you?Originally Posted by zionstrat
I figure it must have been a strat pickup because there isn't a lot of room on a tele control plate for an extra control...
Can you tell us more about how the Barden pickups respond when used with the Spin-a-Split controls?

Are these pickups really something more than overpriced Bill Lawrence pickups?

They are both low impedance designs, in fact Joe got the low impedance idea from Bill. But that doesn't mean they achieve the design goal the same way.Originally Posted by the guy who invented fire
I forget the actual DC Resistance of my Bardens, but they are high output pickups compared standard hi impedence single coils...let alone compared to the low impedence pickups I've owned. The Bardens use the same 250K pots Duncans and Fenders use. I don't think of my Bardens as being low impedence pickups...they have higher output and do not require a lo to hi convertor to make them useable with standard guitar amps.Originally Posted by dnewhous
