    Default A little bass vid!

    Uploaded it to Youtube.

I just woke up today and thought that i should try to record some stuff with my digicam. Since i were tired and hadn't even eaten breakfast before i recorded it, it's kinda sloppy, and i forgot what i were going to play in the solo.

It's my Ibanez RD500F fretless bass with Elixir roundwounds, into a Boss GEB-7, and finally into a 1978' Peavey head and two cheap peavey PA speakers.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a26X9Fd7EwQ (the video will be cleared soon)

    Cheers,
    -Erlend

    Bass: boring instrument?

    WTF are you smoking?

IMO there is no limits for what you can do on bass. It's a just as expressive instrument as guitar is, except that it's tuned an octave lower, and is a much bigger part of a band's sound than the guitar.

EDIT: Maybe you were trying to be ironic?

Good stuff. Love that fretless sound.

Now you're just joking with me aren't you? ROB TRUJILLO?! PLAYS BADASS?! Now, where is the "shaking head" smiley....

And do you really know why there's hard to find a good bass player? Because 80% of people who start playing bass just doesn't have enough brains to, well.. play bass. Playing bass is alot harder than playing guitar, and even more so if you want to improvize while still providing a perfectly in-time rhythm, playing the right notes to provide backround for the other instruments, and STILL keeping the groove.

People who think bass is a boring instrument should learn how to play it... or atleast listen to some good bassplayers . For you, my uneducated little friend, i'd have you listen to Gary Willis. Then, don't tell me that bass is boring .

EDIT: Yes, i play guitar too, and have been playing for as long as i've played bass. Though i find it much more satisfying to play bass.

    Peace,
    -Erlend

    +1

Bass is certainly NOT a boring instrument.

That's not what i said. But when you all of a sudden say that "damn the bass is a boring instrument", i'm seriously starting to wonder if you have never heard a good bassist. If you think Rob Truljo (sp?) is kickass, you just CANNOT have heard really good bassists. As in, if you've been sleeping on a stone floor all your life, how could you say that beds are uncomfortable?
