Default Rid inspired me...improvising "Shine On You Crazy Diamond"

Rids "Hey Dave" track reminded me and inspired me to do a little Pink Floyd stuff....

So here's my improvising over a shortened "Shine On You Crazy Diamond Part 1", still over 10 minutes though

I don't own a strat to do the Gilmour tones so this is recorded with Thursday Burst as usual

It was real fun to do as I got to experiment with using several tracks of the guitar sounds with different effects and such. I'm not really used to using and mixing effects so it's always good to try and learn!

Would be nice to hear what you guys think!

Where'd you get the backing track at, or do you still have a copy you can send to me?

Also, if you don't mind, tell me a little about how you recorded this. Mic'ing/DI setup wise that is.

I'm assuming you used your neck pickup, or a combo of both for the intro?

    Thanks guys!

    Backingtrack is available at www.GuitarBT.com

Everything is recorded dry and DI through my pedalboard, effects added afterwards:

    Thursday Burst - TS808 RI - V-Stack Classic - Soundcard Line-in

Most of the guitar parts are layered and have different effects asigned to the layers. Intro is recorded with neck pup, volume almost full and tone all the way down.

Glad you liked it Rid! You inspired me to do it after all

It's long to do without vocals for sure... That was kinda the hard part, not to make it instrumentally boring. I don't know if it got boring in the end, maybe a little
