help me play "surfin with the alien" PLEEEEASE!!!

u may find this stupid, as do i! but....
i bet by brand new ibanez prestige on my ability to play this brilliantly dificult song.

i know my fingers can do it, but, my brain cant.
the internet tabs are unfolowable!
i cant figure out the notes when he plays fast.
mainly the bit after the frst tapping section. mainly as it sounds so slurred.
also the bits with whammy bar dives and pick scrapes, how do you make it sound good,like him!

please help, ive got under a week and a half.
save my guitar!!

do you have a recorder that can slow it down for you? if not then i would suggest coming up with something thats sounds similar to it.

yes i can slow it down, but it sounds realy slured and distorted, i cant figure it out.
and this guy is a satriani nut!! he will know if i dont play it exactly!

Well try very very hard to find the tab book......... Buying one would be less than losing a guitar.

Second, practice like a crazy guitar playing freak!!!!!!!! Eventually you'll be able to play it.

In the worst of cases, learn the tab you got on the internet. If it doesn't sound too much off from the original, the guy should let you off. (you hope)

unly thing i need is tips on how 2 do it well.

You have to download the powertab program for windows. It works wonders. It plays the song for you (in midi) to help you get timings down and you could slow it down too... download powertab.

Try a program called 'GuitarPro4'.... good stuff....

Alternatively, strap a CD player to the back of your guitar with the CD in it... put it through the amp and play some wicked air guitar! Maybe it'll fool him.

yer powertab reall does help make hard songs seem alot easier, and now we know that if you can u win a tele the whole bet makes a lot more sense, be sure to post pics of ur tele when u get it!

you should be able to do it. that song isn't very hard- a lot of it is simple stuff played fast.. doodling. Be damn glad you didn't bet on a Shawn Lane (RIP) or Steve Morse song. It would be a lot more difficult trying to pick like those guys.
