    Default active with passive

I got a SH-6 duncan distortion neck(passive) on my baritone fretless and i want to add a LW-CH1 livewire bridge(active).
    Is it possible?
Have you an idea for an other humbucker with a lot of treble?

If you go on EMG's website it gives you instructions on how to match active with passive. It can be done, despite the converse being stated in threads of similar nature. Not sure how good it sounds, I've never tried it meself.

I've tried this before and the volume and output difference makes it almost useless for playing anywhere but the room.

Like nearly anything, it can be done. If you have to wire it where the active pup and passive pup share volume and/or tone controls one, the other, or both will sound bad because the pups require such different pot values.

On top of that, you're more likely to get the output difference that Seraphim was talking about. On a LP, you could turn the volume down on the active and play the passive at full volume and make up for it, but if you've only got one volume pot you're stuck.
It's hard to be metal in girl pants.
