    Default Free straplocks!!

It's quite simple, did it myself. Get 4 washers that the hole is just big enough for the strap screw to go through. Put one washer on the screw then put the screw through the hole on the strap. Put another washer on the screw so that the strap is between the 2 washers....screw back in. Worked wonders for me! And it FREE.

They sell these hard black plastic locks where the center of the lock spins. I think dunlop makes them but I can't remember. They cost $1 a piece and can be taken on and off in a second or two. I found them at a local guitar shop about a year ago and I now have them on everything.

Here is a bad pic but its the best I can find without looking harder.

Any concern that the washer between the strap and the body will marr the finish over time? I guess you don't plan on ever need to remove the strap.

It's not against the body, you still put the little knob thing on that the strap used to go on.

Make sure the washers and strap can turn freely and it'll work out great. If the washers and strap bind up on the screw, they may loosen the scew little by little and eventually the scew will come out. It happened to me, luckily I didn't drop my guitar.

    That's what always confused me...

You're going to drop a wad of cash on a guitar...a wad of cash on an amp...some more dough on a fret leveling and setup, more dough for new pickups, pots and switches. Then there's high-end cables, pedals, and the inevitable sending them off to be modified for some more cash....and also let's not forget another hundred for a nice hardshell case and a nice comfy sttrap on top of it....

....and you cheese out by going to the hardware store or pull chunks of plastic off of Grolsch bottles for the sake of a $13.99 investment.

I used "fender washers" on an old beat up guitar for a short time.... then on payday i bought a set of strap locks.... Fender washers are sold at Home Depot and they have a small hole in the middle of a larger washer...

    Grolsch gaskets are awesome because:

    1) It gives you a reason to drink beer.

    2) They work really well and hold your strap very securely.

    3) No mods required.

    4) It gives you a reason to drink beer.

    mmmmm beeeeeeeerr....

I wasn't aware that I needed a reason to drink beer. When did this start?

Steel versus plastic.....I'm betting on steel.

    3) No mods required.
I actually prefer going and using toothpicks and gluing the straplocks in; there's no doubt in my mind that they will stay forever like that.

You keep talking about these reasons to drink beer like they're some sort of requirement....

    mmmmm beeeeeeeerr....
...this I actually will agree on.
