Yeah, the first time someone said that to me I understood "fag" and handed him a cigarette.. it wasn´t till like 5 seconds later that I realized what he actually said

THough I´m curious as to the definition of fanny other than bum (Uh oh, now we´ve come full circle..)

Ehm, we do say Worchestershire sauce... at least those of us that CAN, incl. famous people like Scooby Doo

And as far as aluminium goes, it´s also about a 50-50 spread in my experience, both are considered correct in US english....

It exclusively means muschi in the UK. A 'fanny pack' is a very funny phrase here.

    AAAH, ok, I stand corrected....

That considered, a Fanny Pack, directly translated to american english slang, and then misunderstood by someone unfamiliar with it..... Well, it would be something almost exactly like this, or?

My eyes went from cat carrier to the 'instrument' and I already associated it with kitty hurt before I saw the photoshopped picture of cat hurt!

First time I saw it I was outraged that such a product would be marketed.... Until I realized what the URL was, and from then on it´s just ultimately funny

But anyway, pack more as in 'hineingelegt' like putting things in a suitcase or stuffing a chicken. It's ridiculous

The brits stuff chickens as well?? Not that it´s in any way a bad idea, but for me it would probably be too much work for too small a bird... A turkey I can understand....

BTW, no need for german tranlations, I´m an american myself ... though my first impression is taht you may well speak a bit of german as well (or be really good at google)

I can speak German, loosely. I remember my speaking exam. I was asked to give 2 reasons why I couldn't meet up with my friend next week, to which I replied...

'Meine Mutter ist krank und mein hund ist tot'

Which I think roughly translates to 'My mother is ill and my dog is dead'

I am too small a bird for stuffing too! hahahaha

Not German huh, stop confusing people with your moustache! hehe
I speak two languages fluently and enough to get by in a few more. It makes people really suspicious of me in my joe-job, I don't know why. Yes madam, I AM a secret agent. Would you like a bag for that?

LOL, I speak english and german at a native Speaker level, with basic knowledge of Spanish.... admittedly never really occupied myself with Japanese, Chinese or similar, I probably don´t buy enough electronics to see a "real" need yet

Actually, that's the most common usage of the word around here. That, or the noun "bum," as in a person who does that.

And I say "Zee-bah" like the crocs in Pearls Before Swine.

:O Is that all they mean to you? Japanese doesn't have stupid masculine and feminine words that have 12 different tenses like a few European languages I could mention. China has many languages if you count dialects, and out of the 2 main ones there's one people prefer for business and being intellectual (Mandarin) and one that most people use (Cantonese) and refuse to use the other one even though it's 'the way forward'. Both are so hard to learn that it's worth waiting til they've made their minds up. hehe

I met some Irish guys at a hostel in Chicago with accents so thick, I thought they were speaking Dutch or something. It was actually a combination of slang (they were 19-20 or so) and accent. I felt like an idiot having to sit and sort out each sentence for a bit. Hangover didn't help.

Don't worry, I have noticed English, Scottish and Welsh people don't know what they're saying either most of the time, same can be said for Scottish people with thick accents. And Japlish or Chinglish people hehe
