Is this a good comparison?
I know the PAF pro is not as hot, but slightly so, maybe
PAF pro has a Nasal sound (their words - I agree)
HAven't listened to my Pro against my CC in some time - Is this a reasonable comparison?

I believe they are both VERY different.
"it is a really hard song. it has like 3 different power chords in it. i just learned what power chords are, i thought it was the thing from your amp that you plug in to the wall."
I would make the case for a stronger comparison between the CC and the Air Zone.
+1,000,000,000. Being a user of both the CC and AZ, I so agree with this statement. I hear the AZ as a CC with more and tighter bass. Mids and highs are about the same.Originally Posted by frankfalbo
The PAF Pro is a different beast altogether. I think a fairer comparison of the PAF Pro might possibly be the Screamin' Demon.

CC vs PAF Pro is like a Bundt cake vs. a cream pie..... one is for eating and enjoying, and one is for throwing in Dimarzio´s general direction![]()

Thanks guys...just read a couple of things on another post that had me thinkin' I'll stop that - it rarely helps. I do really like my PAF Pro and it's nasally mids in my Yamaha Pacifica. I think it's a cool/good pup, particularly in that guitar. But I LOVE my CC in my epi LP!!!! I'll be sure not to do anything foolish like SWAP my CC for one cuz I thought it would be similar.
The only reason I pulled the CC from my Epi LP was because I got a Brobucker. Had that not happened, the CC would still be there.Every time I play my Frankenstrat (where it is now), I'm always reminded why I love that pickup so much.
They're both loose pickups, thats where the similarities end.

It so happens I just installed a PAF Pro in one of my guitars. First time I've heard one. I like the upper mid edge it has. And the pickup I had in that guitar was too bassy. The PAF Pro is tighter sounding. I'd agree, it might loosely be comparable to a Screamin Demon, of maybe a Full Shred, but only loosely.

Just as long as you differentiate between custard and cream pie.Originally Posted by Zerberus
