    Default palm muting question

I've been practicing palm mutes, but I can't seem to get it to work on the G string (Why do G strings cause so many problems? ) Every other string sounds fine, but the G string rings and buzzes, almost sounding like a harmonic. It's done it with every string I put on it, so I know it isn't the string. Is there a secret technique that only great guitarists know that no one is telling me?

maybe its the shape of your hand's palm's side that is curved and right on the G string the "muting" is not happening...

At least for me, palm muting has to be extremely light on plain strings.

Yeah I know about that light palm muting hehe. back when I played metallica, I played that low E so hard with the muting (it sounded perfect) that I unwounded the string quite a lot. I was replacing the low E about every 2 weeks. It was insane.

Moving on to megadeth, ive realized that PM doesnt have to be played hard, just slightly but dynamicly . =)
