    Default computer help

I need a computer. prefferably a laptop, I dont have ANY room for a desktop, nor do I have a keyboard, mouse, or moniter. My only requirment is that it has to be able to run wireless internet. That's it. Oh, and it has to work too. It can be years old out of date, I dont care. If anyone has one they want to sell, knows where I can get one cheap (I'm talkin bout black market cheap), or anything of the sort, please let me know. I've got a ton of stuff I need to do on the computer, and no computer to do it with.

The three most reliable brands are Toshiba, IBM (their notebooks are now branded as Lenovo), and Dell, in that order. Everything else is a crap shoot IMO. That's not to say you won't find a good HP or Gateway or whatever.

Go to a used computer store near you and let them know what you want. I would avoid buying a notebook off EBay since you never know what you're going to get, and you can't return it and yell at someone if it sucks.

Other than that, you should be good.

of course IBM makes great laptops, i used one for sometime, but they're inherently more dear than other brands.

beano, if you buy Dell they'll ship directly to u without going through any dealers. very convenient.

Here ya go. I used to have an Acer desktop back in the day. It was decent. My uncle just bought a new Acer notebook and thus far has been happy.

If it's a good model a Sony will serve you well, their models can either be decent or ridiculously awesome (like the T, TX, etc. series). I haven't dealt with their service lately but my T250 has had 0 problems since I got it march last year.

Lenovo makes great stuff as said previously. Dells are okay but their service is nowhere near as good as it was before.
