Life's a journey, pack a lunch!.
Meh....it's a great album. Both that one and "Morning Glory" are fantastic releases.
I tend to think that the egos are a little less now that they've released a few albums that didn't do quite as well as the previous ones did.

YEeaaahhhh........
Get back to me in 40 years & let's see if anyone knows who Oasis was.
Or cares :fing25:

Oasis are not fit to shine the Beatles shoes (even the dead Beatles).
Gibson LP Melody Maker -- stock, Epiphone Dot -- Jazz neck and '59 bridge, Fender Telecaster Blackout Deluxe -- stock, 90's MIM Standard Strat with Duncan Texas Hot Custom in the bridge.
Funny thing about stuffing an artist down a younger generations throats....they tend to resist.Originally Posted by gripweed

I also prefer Radioheads earlier albums (Pablo Honey, The Bends etc) to later 1's like OK Computer.
Everyone has their own versions of these lists, so it's always a point to argue over![]()
Gibson, PRS, Fender, Patrick Eggle, BC Rich, Gordon Smith, Jackson, Ibanez and Home-built Guitars.
Splawn Quick Rod, Soldano SLO Clone, Marshall JCM800, Matamp + old Carlsbro amps, Zilla and Award Session speaker cabs.
Mainly HomeBrew Electronics and G2D FX, plus a few other.

I've always failed to see what was/is so great about Oasis. They are just another UK band to me... one that isn't too particularly noteworthy.
Duncan Pickups in currently in use: '59 (rewound to PATB-3)/'59, Custom 5/AP2H, Tapped QP set for Tele, Duncan Distortion, SP90-1/SP90-2

Lists like this suck.

So does this mean that
"Oasis is bigger than Lennon!"

I wonder if that was the same CD I chucked out the window after 6 songs.
I don't hate Oasis, but to compare them to the Beatles is like comparing Noel Gallagher to George Harrison and John Lennon, and comparing Liam Gallagher to Paul McCartney. It's laughable.
I much prefere Oasis to The Beatles, it doesn't get much more ove-rated than the beatles in my honest opinion. Definately Maybe is a great album, shame oasis never got near that again.

in what way do you think the beatles are over-rated?Originally Posted by Forbes

I meant the beatles are over-rated in my opinion, in the way that a huge amount of people think they are the greatest band ever, and from what i've heard i certainly wouldn't put them in that catagory at all, catchy pop-song writers maybe, but i certainly wouldn't put them in the same league as a band like The Clash or Radiohead on intelligence and generally great music. Just my opinion.Originally Posted by flank

All of SG Pepper, and a fair few songs from just generaly being aroiund mates/parents etc. I'm not saying they are the worst band in the world, just purely that i can't see what all the fuss is/was about.

Its all good bro. You should check out Revolver, Rubber Soul, and Abbey Road. You may change your mind a little bit.Originally Posted by Forbes
