I had recently been looking around for an MIDI controller for recording and softsynths and various applications in Reason, Cubase, and FL Studio. I settled on the Novation ReMOTE 25 LE. It would be nice to have faders (particularly motorized faders), but considering the price, size and the fact that pots can act as faders, it was the best deal to me. From what I've heard, it's amazing.
Anyway, I shopped around online, and found one on Music123.com with a recent price drop to $99.00!! Amazing deal! They sell for MUCH more than that. I've purchased from music123 in the past, and their service has been fast and overall superb.
When you do a search, such as for "Novation remote," the 25 appears with a "Ships free on orders over $99.00." Great! However, within the product description that clause doesn't appear anywhere, unlike all of the other eligible items I've seen. I figured maybe it would show up at checkout, so I added a pack of dunlop metal fingerpick refils for $2.99 to bring it over $99.
In the cart, it still wanted to charge me for shipping. I emailed the customer service, who was very kind. The problem was, they seemed to want to refund the shipping after I provided an order number, but I haden't checked out yet, since I didn't want to pay another $12.99 just to have it sent back to me. I emailed them that statement, and they instructed me to order over the phone.
The representitive on the phone was very friendly, and actually pretty funny. We even briefly discussed the movie Soylent Green (the name of my electronica project/band that I listed under Business for shipping). He didn't ask any questions, and took the shipping charges right off.
I'm very very pleased with the service provided, and music123.com continues to impress me on their gurantees, prices, and availability of products! I highly recommend them.![]()
