    Question About splitting a HB!!

I don`t know what to do on my next hss strat!
I`m thinking of having a dpdt push pull pot(500k) for volume.
The thing is,i don`t think the singlecoils will sound good with 500k volume pot.
What do you do to knock down the volume pot to 250k in singlecoil mode?

Here's how a push-pull works. The left and right sides are electrically independent of each other, but operate with a common handle. The "center" lugs are the common terminals that switch between upper and lower terminals.

so, when i`m splitting a hb i`m putting the white an red wire in the left middle, and the lower left to ground.
The black(hot) in the right middle and the upper lug to ground.
Or....LOL if so,what`s the lugs on the pot it self for?(the blue ones)

To split one humbucker, you'ld put red/white on the center terminal, (as you said), but if it was me, I'd do the "top" terminal to ground. I prefer split mode when the knob is up. Although, there are exceptions. I have my Stag Mag split when the knob is down.

You don't need to connect the black hot wire to the switch at all. Look at this Duncan diagram:

    http://www.seymourduncan.com/support...y-w-split.html

The "blue" terminals of the pot are the normal three terminals of the volume or tone pot. Connect them as normal. Again, study some of the Duncan schematics. (On the main page under "Support".)
