Dual HB / Single Coil Setup Question

Hey Guys,

Here's a question for you I haven't been able to find the answer to;

I've seen (on more than one occasion) a two HB setup with a five position switch, which, in the middle position is both, in the '2' and '4' position is either the neck or bridge HB, and in the '1' and '5' position is single coil for the neck or bridge respectively.

Have any of you encountered this, and/or do you know how to perform this sort of installation at home?

(If I'm completely wrong about this, which I may very well be, I'm sorry for wasting your time.)

Well, there are a few 4-pole switches that can do almost anything, including what you ask. Perhaps some superswitches coud do it, like some kind of tele superswitch designed for some series connections in 2 and 4.

After taking a look through the forum, and realizing how completely typical my 'weird' sounding set up is, I feel a bit like a fool.

I suppose all I could ask now, is are there any good guides online or otherwise I could take a look at to learn a little more about this sort of configuration?

This schematic will do what you want. The wires are colored for SD pickups and it will cancel out the adjustable pole coils on the humbuckers in the 1 and 5 positions. You can get the 5 position 4-pole switch at www.stew-mac.com or www.guitarelectronics.com.
