I don't think I've ever had tele GAS quite this bad. I wouldn't want the relic job done on it (let's not get into that, please!), but otherwise....*drool*

I loves me some tele. I want to build something that looks similar to the Merle Haggard Signature Telecaster. So yummy...

That Haggard Tele is just stunning.
Allow me to share my newest toy (have had it about a month): 1991 American Standard Tele....all stock.

Not to hijack the thread, but how's that Tele been treating you, Erik?

Incredible. Absolutely incredible. After getting it, I played it a little and then restrung it with my gauge (10-46). It had 11's on it. Sounded killer though with those 11's. It's taken some getting used to but if anything, my playing is getting better because of it. She's unforgiving as hell...lol. Through my Marshall the tone is unreal. I'm keeping it stock I think. I love the tone from it.Originally Posted by MikeS
Thanks for asking, Mike. It feels good to be part of the Tele club. Now, for that Goldtop....LOL. (yeah, right).

Hijack away! That's why I started this thread.Originally Posted by MikeS

Erik, I'm glad you finally got it. So you're diggin' the stock tele pups? Nothing wrong with that, especially when you can save a few bucks to spend on other gear!![]()

I must say that it tickles me that a guy with your forum handle is so interested in a Tele.

The stock pickups sound really good. The neck is a little weak but that's ok. I'm not a big neck pickup player other than for rhythm stuff or really light mellow playing. The bridge pickup is nice and spongey/crunchy, if that makes any sense...lol. The only thing that will be changing in the forseeable future is the pickguard. It's going to be changed to white pearl.
