Default Pup Thread for a Friend.

Well, im going out for my birthday on a trip to Long and McQuades to buy my 59' set (thanks everyone).

However, my friend is also looking for new pickups for his Ibanez artcore, something jazzy/bluesy, very clean, and can do stoner rock/classic rock well. (they are seperate categories of music, though some classic rock is stoner rock.. but think warm, creamy vintage tone, turned up a little).

Many here on the forum thinks that the antiquty HBs is perfect in a hollowbody!
I have the jazz neck and PG in my artcore. The jazz neck is fantastic but the Pg is a bit too bright in that guitar.IMO

I was thinking that.. but he's having quite a deal of time even affording upgrading to a Vox Valvatronix 50 with his dad paying half. We're poor (though, until now, we've been lucky enough to get him a good amp before gigs... I just use my shiny happy Traynor Blue)

Why not see if you can finance the set through L&M? They'll do it for almost anything so for a set of pickups worth a couple hundred, they'll likely do it. Which location are you going to? I go to the guys in Mississauga, but the Bloor location has good service too.

    Yer Canadian? Cool..

Yeah, I go to the one in markham.. it's like a 5 minute drive from my house.

And finance like... with the pay a certain amount a month thing (what my parents did with my Traynor)

Exactly. Put your 20% down, and pay it off earlier than scheduled. They'll love you for it. I did that with my LP and my credit's great there now. It beats waiting to save up all the cash. Just get it done!
