Default Bruce Springsteen: the Seeger Sessions

Just got the CD and DVD last night...I picked it up, went to the counter and then my girlfriend wouldn't let me buy it...she insisted on buying it for me!

    What a sweetheart.

Everyone's raving about the CD and the concerts...even the young guy in the record store was going on and on about it.

Good stuff I guess...haven't listened to it yet myself. Waiting for her to come over tonight so we can watch the DVD together.

There's never been anyone better than the Boss, IMO.

So this is kind of a Pete Seeger tribute I guess....right?

Whenever I hear about Pete Seeger I remember the story about him looking for an ax so he could cut the cables to the PA system at Newport when the newly electrified Bob Dylan performed there in the early 60's. (In Pete's defence, it did sound pretty bad...and I'm a big Dylan and Mike Bloomfield fan.)

I saw a few videos on AOL, looked cool and fun and I am not a fan of the Boss.

I heard a clip of Jeremiah was a Bullfrog on the radio, and thought it was pretty cool.
Buy the book in my avatar. It's pretty cool.

Watched it last night. Absolutely great!

    Super soulful music.

So cool to hear those old folk tunes again done up in a new way and Brucified!

Like hearing them for the first time.

    Highly recommended!

My dad was from West Virginia and used to sing us alot of those songs...he didn't learn them off of records either.

I can't wait to hear these songs... I love Seeger.

Yep, he was trying to cut the wires 'cause he absolutely hated Dylan's "Maggie's Farm"...funny stories like that crack me up... they hated Dylan soo much when he turned electric.
My own brew of acoustic folk-music:

    Thanks for listening...
