Default CustomCustom bridge 59 neck - Rid's Am funk (video)

This wasn't meant for publishing, but I liked it so I uploaded it anyway with the mistakes!

You can see the pickup selector so it's easy to tell which pickup is playing at all times. I also have a coil split.

And here's the first attempt I had at this track:

(wait for it untill the end. You will understand why most of my clips are "Quick" ones )

    thanks for watching.

    The second one isnt working.

The first one however, is beautiful. The playing and the guitar. (To you who saw this wee comment after, I just didnt read the thread title...)

It's truly a wonder you didn't wake up your family though..

    Thanks Timmy,

yes, I used the pickups in the title.

I forgot to mention that I used my PODxt Live to record this so it wasn't too loud to record at night.

P.S. I have fixed the second link.

    cheers,

    Marin

    Yes, Rid.

My son loves to mess around my guitars and me while I am playing.

    thanks.

What kinda guit-fiddle is that anyway. A custom? Build it yourself? At first the arched top had me thinking it was an LP type. Now that I take a closer look, I'm thinking it might be closer to a tele style.

It's a hand-made guitar made by a local luthier www.jacaranda.it. Here are some pics: http://www.marinblues.it/jaca2/. I kind of "designed" it and it is sonically somewhere between a LP, Tele and 335.

    cheers.

Man . . . you're one of those people I can just sit and watch, (and listen), to all night long. There's something especially appealing about knowing that you're just an "everyday" bloke knocking out some of the smoothest jams I've heard in awhile.

I was just going through some of your videos. I absolutely love this one with your Anderson Strat. Talk about smooth licks. Whew!

Thanks Artie, I am really glad you like it. This is really how I play and practise at home, perhaps looking out for some new things. There are some dissonant and out-of-time notes sometimes, but that how I do my R&D!

Concerning the "ordinary guy" thing: yes, I wish I had more time to practise since I could clean up my technique and think of more chops. However, I think that I've mentioned it before, I had a long break from playing guitar (12years) and when I resumed playing (5 years ago) I feel that I play a lot better (at least for my tastes) since I have no pretences at all of being famous or anything like that. It has just become pleasure, enjoyment, an everyday "exhaust-valve", etc....and perhaps this shows in my playing!

    thanks again

    Marin

Well, it can produce some really horrible sounds and some really good ones at the same time. When I compare it to my amp, without any background music, it sounds a bit plastic and compressed. However, since we always compress our guitar tones before recording them, the POD actually sounds ok recorded.

The effects have IMHO unpredictable reactions and are perhaps a bit less linear and built than say, Boss. But overall, it appear to be OK. If I were to use it live, perhaps I would have changed the function of the knobs and footswitches.

I'll carry on tweaking it .....

    thanks

    Marin
