August 12th at the space? I'm almost positive I can be there unless I'm in Block Island that week. Oh and remember that Die Hard Hunters band I showed you on myspace? They've got a show Saturday August 5th. I plan on videotaping that!
Nice, you'll have streaming video available for forum bros, right???

How are the PRS's from model to model? My LP Historics are all VERY fine guitars, but the R9 is fairly substantial step up from the rest as far as weight, tone, etc. (i have never weighed it, but my tech guesses it might be under 8 pounds)It's all relative, but intertesting to see how much extra time Gibson apparently puts into the selection of the raw materiels for the R9. If I need emergency surgery and have to fund it by selling guitars, the R9 and the Nocaster willbe the last two to go

I found the McCartys to sound the *best* out of the standard production line to my ears (I've never played the uber-highend PRS like the 513, Modern Eagle, etc.). Some folks may prefer a maple neck like on the CE series or some may like the thinner body size on the CU series, it's all very subjective. I've found quality control to be exceptionally good on PRS guitars.

Gibson's historic line is generally fantastic. What they say about premium woods is true. You will never hear me say that PRS "smokes" a Gibson. They excel at different tones and they are both fantastic guitar manufacturers in their own way. Even though I'm using PRS now, I'm still a Gibson fan.

I was amazed to find that these two McSoaps (bought unseen, mind you) compared favorably to the SG Custom and LP Special DC historics I owned. It shows me that PRS' standards on the production line really is topnotch. The LP Special DC did have a bit of a more favorable sound (deeper lowend extension due to the thickness of the body), but I threw that out the window when I found I never had to play with the tuning on the PRSi. I've played some Gibby's that stayed in tune very well (my R0 was almost there), but I've never seemed to be fully there with the few I've owned.
