    Default Satch straps

I usually think straps with designs and stuff are pretty tacky and stupid, but I think I'm gonna have to get at least one of these.
Buy the book in my avatar. It's pretty cool.

I saw those at GC the other day when I got my clearance red "celtic" one for 9 bucks \m/

THe silver/blue one was the first JS one I saw and I think it's the coolest.

    I got this one:

I have to use leather straps. The nylon straps don't work for me. The guitar slips around too much!

I have this one. It's actually a really nice strap. It's padded inside the strap and sits nice on my shoulder. I always use planet waves straps and these are quite comfy too!

Plain black or brown leather for me, but those really look nice. I'd probably get one of those if I ever went for something with designs.

    Functional and solid, sure...

But I don't think they could be any more 80's looking unless you taped a pair of parachute pants to them.

...which is tragic....the real engineering nerd in me loves the design and if it wasn't so closely associated with the era I'd probably consider using them on a few of my axes.

Being a big Satch freak, I naturally pay attention to what he puts his name on. Regardless of his association, I DO like the cool illustrated designs and colors. But I don't think I'll be getting one because...

...my EBMM Silhouette sports a silver Get'm Get'm strap that is the EXACT same silver/sheen color as the guitar's finish. It was expensive, but I've never seen another one like it and it looks too damn cool. You can see it in my avatar.

...my Strat usually gets slung around with a black leather strap that has Nylon backing, so it slides around easily on the bottom but looks real great on top. That or a black cloth Seymour Duncan Strap with a metal "S" badge on it.

But nevertheless, cool straps and PW/D'addario is a fave company of mine.

I snagged a blue/white one to try on my strat. I'll either be using it or a black DiMarzio nylon strap, depending on how "hair metal" I feel . This one is solid though, well made, and won't slide around as much as the nylon strap.

It's one of the Planet Waves Joe Satriani straps this thread is talking about... notice the PW logo and big "JS" on it?
