    Default Yep, I broke it...

Yep, I broke my classic stack plus pickup. Didn't think I was being rough with it, but I guess it got shoved back in the guitar wrong or something. The back plate fell off and I saw that one of the pickup wires was disconnected. I emailed SD asking if I can pay for them to fix it lol. But anyways, does anyone know if SD fixes them? I searched and didn't find anything. (I know I have to pay for them to be fixed, etc). Is anyone here s0ld3r1ng-1337?

Ouch, TwinReverb, I know that feeling but there is hope. At the Duncan site, look under 'products' then 'custom shop' and scroll down almost to the bottom....it lists some of the services they can provide, then right near the bottom it says "YOU NAME IT AND WE'LL DO IT"

    This should get you there....

let us know how you get on......

Took it to an Ibanez-certified guy today. He'll try to fix it. Here's crossing my fingers.... I told him DPDT toggle switch is for JB split, 250K vol and tone pots (already has the fender no load tone pot), fix 5 way switch (they have import switches!! i never noticed!), rewire guitar. I finally got some solder wick from Radio Shack, which I brought with me, since there are huge solder globs. I also told him that if he needs silver solder, I have some for the pickup.

And oddly enough I'm walking away and I saw an EMG all-single-coil setup, one of those that comes pre-wired with pickguard (i.e. just solder it into the guitar). I was SO JEALOUS but I didn't buy it lol.

Too bad SD don't ship pre-made pickguard+everything-axe and other stuff like that. Those would RULE!

Actually yeah. I suggest everyone try an EMG single coil set at least once in their lives. I really like them. You might too, they sound wonderful. Wait.. is your Ibanez SSS?

Nope, H-S-S, but it would fit in the Ibanez. I would've needed to figure out what type those are, what playing style they're meant for, if they're passive or active (I'm not buying active pickups unless the guitar already had the routing for the 9volt batter{y|ies}. I'm not one of those people that "must" have active pickups.

But anyways, I'd need to do research first, and even then, I already have the SD pickups, so it would still be a waste of time on my part. Maybe next time....

Did you buy them new and within the last 21 days?

SD does have a 21 day replacement policy if you live in the US.

New? Yes. Last 21 days? Nope. I had them a full 2 months before my TB-4 JB came in. Thanks for the idea though....
