    Default My very First one

This is what it all started with for me 16 years ago. This is my first guitar. Just pulled it out of the storage today. It needs major fret job as you can see. Anybody can recomend here somebody who is good at it? I was recommended STRUTDELUXER for my TS9 and it turned out to be one of the best gear mods of my life. Or will it be cheaper to buy a new neck(I am thinking a maple freboard with head turning upwords, like on Lynch's ESPs from the eighties) and take to the shop for swap neck/inotonaiton job. Thanks dudes.

Funny thing about Vuarnet France...My ex was in France on vacation way back, and most places had never even heard of Vuarnet. After some research, she found out the company seemed more popular in Montreal...

And yeah, that Body Glove sticker is perfect.

It looks like it's an import, hard to tell.

Personally I'd go for a whole new neck, compound radius, with stainless steel frets.

You could also go on Warmoth's web site and look at their showcase- you can get a good deal on what they already have in stock

Jay 77 Thanks dude. Well the body glove came after seeing Paul Stanely having one on his guitar. Ha, my first two tapes were Crazy Night - Kiss and Savage amusment - Scorpions, that did it. So, anyone can recommend here who works with frets or what should I do if I go to the guitar shop to do it? is there anything special when it comes to Barretta as far as fret job?

Warmoth has this headstock available in reverse: http://www.warmoth.com/guitar/necks/...rer_warmothpro

It's supposed to be the Explorer headstock, but it's really more like the one on your Kramer there. $173 for maple/maple or maple/rosewood.

They've also got one in 24 3/4" scale length, if you're interested in that one. http://www.warmoth.com/guitar/necks/..._alternate2475

    sufferinrewind,
Thanks dud, I am such a dumb ass, reverse is simply the lefty's stuff .... duhhha. 24 3/4" scale length just give you extra frets right ???

No, both are 22 frets. Just a suggestion, in case you wanted something a little different. Otherwise, the regular Warmoth Pro 25 1/2" scale is fine.

EDIT: They make it in reverse with the side dots on the left side of the neck, so you can see them. If that doesn't matter to you, you could just get the lefty neck, but the reverse doesn't cost any more than the righty or lefty neck.

    Like this? http://www.warmoth.com/guitar/necks/...kws_warmothpro

If that's the one you're looking for, they only make that in 25 1/2" scale length. They do come in reverse, though.

Is that pickup in backwards? I mean, don't the screws usually sit to the bridge side?

God, I love this place, thanks guys, I went there(wormoth) yestereday and totally brain farted. For about 230 bucks you can have maple fret board with steel frets and have it prepped for floyd. Awesome, I am also thinking of putting a SD's Full Shred in it too. Thanks guys. But again, as I am not familiar with it playability and tone wise, what is the difference between 24 3/4" and 25 1/2 nicks

    Jay 77,
Yeah, I think you right, I could have asked for something in my tone, and the guy probobly did this thinking that this would do it, or he was a moron. I don't remember ... I got my Strat in 1999 and have not played this baby since .... didn't even take it out from the case.

I'm not too familiar with the differences, because I've mostly played Strat style guitars. I have played a Flying V and Explorer. Only once, though. Most don't like the 24 3/4" scale because of the string tension. The strings feel too loose to them, feels like they're playing rubber bands. Other than that, I don't know. It's been a while since I've played one with that scale length and I generally don't care for Gibson style guitars.

I am so glad I didn't play guitar in the 80's.

I have both scales. Yeah, you can feel the difference but it doesn't take long to get used to them both.
