Jay Turser JT50 Custom? Whaddya guys think?

This guitar seems pretty darn nice, especially for the price. List is $399, I can buy it new for like $250-$270. So I'm wondering if I can get this beauty used for like $150 or so. Boy that seems like a STEAL.

I was wondering if any of you guys have ever played them? JT is a great company in general. I'm just wondering about the wood quality and neck quality (body is maple, it's a set neck).

Whaddya guys think?

I had a turser, but that was 5 years ago. It wasn't a horrible axe. I hope they've changed the pickups since then... they were some of the only pickups horrible enought ot actually be offensive to me... honky, and brighter than a single coil at the same time... if it goes for cheap enough then why not...

But something tells me you'll just wind up playing that Paul in your signature more anyways Save up your money for something better, or at least different

I've been in the market for a good SG (looking at Used Gibson Supremes right now) for a while. I'm waiting to get a really good SG. But I've been GASing like CRAZY for an SG forever. Every time I go to a guitar store, that's the first thing I sit down with. I don't know why either. Regardless, I'm thinking this may be a decent stopgap. I can buy this, and get my GAS out of the way. Then, after I've been working a few more months with enough money saved up, I can buy a respectable SG.

This one attracted me because of the set neck, the nice inlays (I HATE dots), the pretty finish, and the JT name. I've never had a problem with JT's. If I were to buy this, I'd get new pups/electronics for sure. The point of this topic is just making sure that the wood itself isn't complete and utter ****.

And yeah, I play the junk outta my Paul. It's an Epi, but I've put a TON of work into it. And it's black too (blech). But I play at least 3-4 hours per day on it.

Oh man yeah they are. They're pretty insane looking! I love the burst on the green, but I'm not sure I'd buy it. I dunno, I need to see them all in real life to pick mine out.

JT's are fine guitars for what they are. I just picked up a Mosrite knock-off from them and I like it a lot, the fit and finish is excellent. The woods are a total mystery since they publish nil about them and the finishes are pretty thick as is typical on imports. Pups are pretty weak as you know.

Ever play a Supreme? They kind of throw me with the 2 octave neck but they are beautiful guitars.

Yeah like I said, I'm certainly not buying this JT for the pups. They can't possibly be any good.

And yeah I played an SG supreme once. I loved the finish, but that was before I knew exactly what it was. But I LOVE SGs because they are so light. And they've got punch.

Epi SGs kinda suck, so I'll never buy one of those (whereas Epi LPs are pretty respectable).
