Default HELP Pot and pickup noise!?

The bridge pup on my gibson V makes a very weird buzz, like 60 cycle almost.

now, a friend told me that maybe a cable was touching the foil on the pickguard, but that wasnt it.

    what else could it be?

I wonder what's up with your Gibson... Any chance of a broken solder connection?

    Well now there is

    considering i broke it. lol

i think i broke the positive wire on the output jack.

but before that, all the wiring LOOKED fine
    and nothing was touching anything

i mean except for where they were meant to touch.

cool to know you found it.. A few years ago i was going nuts trying to find a short in my Warmoth that had full sized Dimarzios... In the mid 90's Dimarzio's grounds were a solid wire.. i had accidently snipped the solid ground when i was pulling the coating off the wire.. extremely hard to see... Sad part was i had just bought a very cool used rack Multi FX with a pedalboard controll... a Digitech thing from the mid 90's.. kind of cool for the $200 price.. i ended up returning it thinking something must of been wrong with it.. it was my guitar the whole time.. it had sold before i could go back and get it
