Default Hey brothers! Pickups for a Charvel Model 5

Got a buddy with a Charvel model 5 who hates the way it sounds with the stock pickups (Jackson or EMG, I forget). This is the two humbucker model. Anyone familiar with these guitars and what pickups would give him a great classic metal sound like Scorpions, Maiden, Priest....that kind of drive? They don't have to be Duncan, which is MY preferred pickup. I'm not familiar with what type of woods or anything with this guitar. It is a neck through as well.
    My songs....enjoy! (hopefully )

JB or Distortion would be good Duncans. The DMZ Super Distortion would be a good one, too.
Buy the book in my avatar. It's pretty cool.

I was thinking the Duncan Distortion and the Dimarzio Super Distortion as well. Probably more than the JB.

You know what? We played again tonight and afterwards, we went over my friends house and I loaned him my Vox AD60VTX to check out. He plugged it it, plugged in that Charvel and it started crackling and popping--the battery was dead. He changed the battery and those pickups are killer! Even the neck has a beautiful full rich tone for solos and chords. I didn't even bother to ask about the battery cuz I figured he'd already checked it.

    Oh well......
