Zebra bucker for my paul??

So since I haven't been able to readily find a PGn for my Les Paul I just had the idea of getting a Zebra PGn instead. I know looks don't really matter THAT much (at least thats what my mom tells me) but what do you guys think?? or should I just wait for black?? (it currently has an EMG 85 in the neck but its deactivated)

Have you checked with Bada Bing? He might have one in stock.

I think if BOTH pickups were zebra, I would look OK, but with the all-black bridge pup, you need to hold out for black.

I typically dont like reliced looking axes but, that one has a certain appeal!

i have a gibson les paul standard gold top. i put zebra gibson 500t and 496 r pick ups in it and swapped my chrome hard ware with gold and this guitar is the sweetest looking les paul ive ever seen but i have had peolp agrre with that and also tell me i ruined the guitar,i did keep the original parts and pick ups though

I did the "only neck zebra" in my epi - which is all amber and birdseye maple. It looks very cool. But - for that axe: All black or all zebra.

IMO, both pickups in zebra would accent the guitar's binding and look pretty classy as you can see by Monty-Jay's picture. Just one pickup in zebra will merely stick out like a sore thumb and not do anything aesthetically for the guitar.

Not only that, but Jimmy Page's #1 had a nickel cover at the neck, but not at the bridge. Don't be afraid to have your own style. THe only thing that matters is that you like it.

There's nothing better to help make your mind then by seeing your actual guitar with the zebra pickups in it. I took your pic and did a little photoshop work to it. They aren't perfect, I'm supposed to be working, but hopefully this will give a better idea of how it will look.

I like the one with two Zebras.

i am a big fan of zebra pickups in the neck. i just put one in my epi les paul last week. between it and the invader with the nickel screws i think it looks pretty cool. so i say go for it. oh. heres how mine turned out.

Thanks for the photoshop job man!!!!!! The double Zebra looks cool but then I'd have to but 2 new pickups instead of one. . . . I may just go all black then

IMO, you could solve your problems by going with creme rings...then either double black or Zebra in any combo would look good.
