Reb Beach from Winger, Dokken, and Whitesnake. My mom used to know him but her old best friend who she started talking to again knows him pretty good and asked if I'd be interested so I said ok. I'm not really familiar with any of his music but I thought it would be a cool experiance. I'm not to sure about what anyone thinks of him either but it'll be cool. I guess he's also opening up a studio somewhere around or in Pittsburgh to.

Winger got head-slapped pretty hard by "Beavis and Butthead", and I think that it greatly effected the public perception of the band. Whatever else you want to say about them, Reb Beach can play. I'm betting that you'll be seriously impressed by his playing. Enjoy!

I'm pretty excited. I heard he's got chops. Ironically a few years ago when I started playing bass (maybe '01-'02) I was getting my rental bass fixed after my lesson at one of the bigger local shops and when me and my dad are standing in line Reb was infront of us. My dad is like look it's Reb Beach and I didn't even know who he was. He tried telling me but as a 13 year old who listened to nothing but pop-punk I didn't know what he was talking about. I heard of the bands just never heard them. He'll be the first famous person I meet though.

After seeing that video I'm not even sure I want to bring my guitar. I'm not even good and it'll be embarassing. Might just take the bass instead

"I played for Yngwie on his weird guitar and I sucked while he shook his head at how awful I was. Back then I couldn’t play the blues for ****. I studied blues licks after Alice and now I feel comfortable with anybody. I feel so comfortable with a guitar now that I have played one for almost thirty years. I was 28 when I shamed Yngwie. I’ve always been pretty good at improvising, but learning the blues was key to jamming with scary guitarists."

Hope that makes you want to jam now

Dude... Put your ego aside and realize that it's a tremendous learning opportunity for you. The more that you can get inside the head of a player and understand how they approach things, the better off you'll be. Even the greatest of players stop down when they think that they can learn something that might improve their playing. Take both the bass and the guitar and soak it all in.

Reb Beach was/is a great player.....everyone starts somewhere & from what I've read about him, he's a pretty down to earth guy that probably doesn't forget when he first started

Go have fun & tell him to drop in over here some time

Stuff like that is why I picked up guitar in the first place. I still can't do that stuff, but I dig it. I really liked the first Winger album a lot, and some of their other songs. The riff to Seventeen is still a killer.

Go have fun and good luck. And like someone else said...if you don't want to go, I'll drive up and meet him anyime.

    Verily, I say.

Winger was a good band, B&B are animated twerps.

    BTW, here is Seventeen.

Winger had some major talent, including the drummer from the Dixie Dregs, Rod Morgenstern.

Holy ****... Not only is the rest of his playing amazing but that's the most unique use of harmonics I've ever heard.

The Op is a lucky bastard.

That video looks like it was done in the 80's, I can't imagine how much better he possibly could've gotten 20 years later, since he was already a virtuoso.
