Like the title say's, what do y'all recommend? John is such an influence on my playing, the only metal player when i think about it.

Hmmm.... I remember him saying that his BC Riches really started sounding good when he "ripped out all the microwave sh*t and put in a set of PRS pickups."
I bet something like a Distortion or Custom would get you pretty close.
PRS pickups have lower output than a distortion, the custom could be close, but I think the custom 5 would be a better choice...

I remember John saying in an interview that he went to a guitar shop and played every axe in there. Then, he took the pickups from the fattest sounding guitar and put those in all of his own.
And yes, John Christ is one of my absolute fave rock players too, both in terms of playing and tone. Damn, I think that I need a healthy dose of Danzig right now...
Does anyone have any idea about the amps used on Danzig records? Which on which?
There are two kinds of people in this world that go around beardless—boys and women, and I am neither one

I'd love to help you, but I only know what his brother Jesus used.

I remember seeing John Knoll in Church every Sunday up to the time he made the audition for Danzig and changed his name to Christ. I went to school with him from 7th grade and jammed with him a few times in the neighborhood. I'm sure something around the custom's output would get you there. He use to idolize Ted Nugent when he was young.
'59's or a Custom will get you there. I can nail any Danzig tune with my Demon(especially the wails in "Godless", "How the Gods Kill" and "Bringer of Death"). John had a really nice clean and overdriven tone. Not so distorted like Danzig's later albums with Todd Youth and Tommy Victor(Prong).
I'll have a Gibson Flying V straight into a Mesa, hold the BS please!!!!!
