    Default emg tele pickups.

over the next couple of months i plan on redoing my tele. but i dont know which pickups to go with. so far i have used sd anitquities, rio grande muy grande set, and a fralin blues special bridge/adder plus neck. but i havent really been been able to get the sounds i want from it. i was thinking about a quater pound tapped bridge with a vintage p-90 in the neck. but i listened to the sound samples on the emg t-set and they sounded pretty good. i will be using the guitar for everything from blues to metal. since i dont have alot of money i cant try out different sets. so i was wondering which set any of you would suggest.

I've got the alnico EMG tele set in my Tele. I really like them in that guitar b/c I use it to cover a lot of ground, from clean country-esque stuff all the way to hard rock/metal. If I wanted a truly 'Tele' sounding guitar, I wouldn't use these pups, however; it sounds pretty good with most material, but I don't think the EMG's are 'classic' Tele tone at all.

    Just my 2 cents, YMMV.
