I like a dark sound out of the neck position and I'm currently looking at the APII and the Jazz, which one is darker in the neck?

The Black ones are darker.
Seriously though, if you go to the Duncan site and check out the tone charts, look for a pickup that has a low number for resonance peak (down toward 5, and not up near 7). Also check the DC resistance. Most of the time higher DC resistance equals darker sound, (a 7.0 will be brighter than a 10.0 made of the same material.) Higher numbers here also mean the pickup will be "hotter" as they say. Combine these two and you can identify the darker sounding pickups.
Having said this, take it with a grain of salt, because it does not always hold completely true, other factors like magnet type and whether its active or passive play a part too, but it still works pretty good.

It might just be me, but i do not think of either pu's as dark !

Like Jack said, neither is what one would call dark, but out of the two, the APH is darker.
Overall though, I think that out of the Duncan catalog, the Seth Lover is the thickest and smoothest neck 'bucker they make.
Ain't nothin' but a G thang, baby.
If you like dark, you can always use the Bridge model of the APH or PG in the neck. But you should define dark a little more clearly. When someone says dark, I think of two different things:
1. Highs are trimmed down, kind of like the tone knob is at "9" or...
2. Lows are boosted, highs remain clear and crisp.
To me, a broad generalization would be that Alnico II neck pups soften the highs like #1, but they also have a nice round low end, that prevents them from sounding muddy or dull. Alnico V neck pickups have a deeper low end, boosted a little, with a little scoop in the mids, so that while it's got deep low end, it's still got more clarity and articulation in the high end than an AII pickup.
So the 59N/B, JazzN/B will be deep and thumpy in the low end, but the PGN/B & APHN/B will have a smoother, sweeter top end, but a little softer low end, too.

If you're looking for darker -- or more accurately, smoother -- go with the Alnico 2 Pro.
In 1861 as the Confederate forces were about to fire on Fort Sumter, the blue and gray had infinitely more in common than the blue and red today. What fellowship can "the truth shall set you free" ever have with "there is no truth, only points of view", or "what is truth?"
Secession would be a horror. But barring a major national crisis like a Black Death magnitude epidemic or nuclear attack to erase once and for all the myth that truth is negotiable, it is coming.

With my rigs, I find the jazz to be brighter than the a2Pro.
Anyone have any experience with a screamin demon in the neck?
