    Anyone know if you can get one uncovered?

    Or;

    Is it possible to pull the cover off one myself?

    Just pop the cover off...you can do it with a soldering iron and some braid or a solder sucker but to be honest a dremel tool is much easier and faster!

    Yeah, it's easy to remove the cover if you are patient. Be careful not to damage it and you can likely sell it if you don't want to hang on to it. Many people like the aged covers.
