Couldn't sleep a few nights ago and saw her on Austin City Limits. Pretty good live, and I really liked the guitar player's tone & attitude.
Any opinions on the 2005 CD "Back to Me" or her debut "Failer"?
Thanks,
Chip

'Failer' is a very cool CD. I heard her on PIG radio last year and had to have itShe is very sexy without being overboard and she really does the alt country thing well. Interesting lyrics and very melodic, with attitude. The guitar tones are waycool too.
Get it
The 2nd CD is not as interesting but it's pretty good also. It sounds a lot like the first.

I also lover the style and tones on both of those cd's. I have her ACL performance TEVO'd. I especially love his "tele" or country style playing on an overdriven SG. Those cd's make me want to buy a Historic Reisue SG with a bigsby.

I'm listening to her now on her website (I try to listen to any alt-country/american act)
She's reminding me of early Allison Moorer. Her new stuff isn't as moving as the old stuff was, but that's not to say it's not as good, it just doesn't move me like the early stuff did.
This is pretty good stuff. I'm diggin it

Cool! Have you heard of the late "Beat Farmers"? One of my favorites, from San Diego. I like their first album the most. I used to hang out with those guys at the end of the 80s, when Mojo Nixon & Skid Roper were often their opening band.. fun stuff.. sigh, the good ol days![]()

It was really big in Hollywood in the mid 80s. Conventional country listeners hated it, but I really liked some of the bands.
Here are some other suggestions:
Jason and the Scorchers - Twang to hard rock, fun lyrics
The Rave Ups - Pretty unique, nice guitar work, lyrics, melodies, vocals
Fetchin Bones - A little more 'off the wall'![]()

Thanks for the suggestions SteveAlways looking for new things and I know we have similar, and similarly wide-ranging, tastes.
