Something interesting I found. My cousin's fiance has their new CD, and they're her favorite band. Well, once night I was over at their house and they had it playing. I looked inside the CD sleve because I was curious. I found out that Billy F. Gibbons did backing vocals on a few tracks on their new CD.

I'll be the first to admit that I actually dig 'em a fair bit. They don't write bad songs, at all, regardless of how different they sound.

That said, the only reason I really will pop a CD in is for reference mixing. Chris Lord-Alge is one of the most talented producers in music, period.

the more people on here ***** about them and say they suck the more i start to like them LOL. i downloaded the newest album (on i-tunes) the other day and there's some cool stuff on there to be honest. i now have no problem with them at all.

the older i get the more i realize i'd gladly play that style of music that most feel is "selling out" or "too simple" or "sounds the same" all day long and laugh all the way to the bank in every state and country on my world tour LOL.

It's easy to bash Nickelback, but give the guys credit; they write catchy rock and Chad Kroeger is one hell of a lyricist (I'm not even j/k either). Even dating back to the early stuff in the band, his lyrics were always refreshing and always flowed.
