Default What tele pu`s to get?

I`v just ordered a "regular" swamp ash tele body from warmoth and need some advices on what pu`s to put in it. As some of you already know i got a tele deluxe but i consider it to be a completely different type of guitar. I`v never owned a regular one and have no idea what to put in it.
As i`v already told you it`s a swamp ash body and i`m thinking of a VM quarter sawn maple neck.
    Here is some preferences
    Bridge pu
    -hard rock
    -not to bright
    -vintage is cool
    -twangy cleans
Neck pu (I`v ordered pickguard without height adjustment screw holes)
    -twang/crunch
    -bright
    -vintage

Any idea what seem right in this case?

I just re read your first post...Im not completely sure that a set of VIntage style pickups are gonna do it for you...Tele's by their nature are bright...you might want to look into some hotter pickups...maybe the Quater Pounders are a good starting point...you could even get the tapped ones and still get some vintage like tones from them.

Yeah,This is never a easy thing. What i can say is that i basicly use A5 magnets in my buckers and i need this tele to be in the same frequecy if you know what i mean. I just hate it when i can`t use the same amp settings on all of my guitars.

If you wannt switch from buckers to single and don't want to mess with the amp you need HOT pickups and/or a Pickup booster...start with Quaterpounders...those are about the hottest Tele pickups that can still sound like a Tele...Hot rails and the like just don't sound like a Tele to me...

yeah,i tried a hotrail (middle pos) in on of my strats yesterday and i hated it !
It sounded "sheap" overwound kinda plastic..hehe
Seems like we`re speaking the same language here,it`s important that it sounds like a tele I think the quarter pounder could be a great start and perhaps a more vintage sounding pu ready to swap when it comes to recording.

This is what I would do if I were you...if you're ok with a more vintage neck pickup get the STR-1 vintage rhythm, but if you want a hotter neck too get the STR-2 Hot Rhythm...that said I woudl personally stick with the vintage version, as for the bridge...there ar 2 pickups that come to mind, the STL-2 Hot Lead and the STL-3 Quater Pounder Lead. Both the STL-2 and the STL-3 can be had in tapped versions to ive you both a powerful lead tone as well as a more vintage tone if, and when you want it. The STL-2 is a great pickup, the 2 taps are at around 7.5k and 15.5k, thte first tap sounds very similar to a broadcaster lead for classic Tele tone while the second tap is a beast that will for sure hold it's own with most PAF style buckers. The STL-3 is even hotter than the STL-2...it's taps are at around 8k and the 2nd tap is over 17k but it also has those huge magnets...I woudl say that it's a tad hotter than the STL-2 but the STL-2 sounds more like a Vintage Tele.
