    Default which pickup for neck?

    i am creating a custom guitar.... i have a emg 81 in the bridge position i do not want a middle pickup because i always hit it with my pick, i am wondering which pick up should i use for my neck postion this is the pickup ill use for clean tones... i would prefer a single coil for it but i will use a humbucker if it sounds nice... ill play lead on my emg and rhythm on my seymour duncan any advice at all is greatly appreciated

    the guitar is a custom shop explorer, mahogany body and ebony fretboard

    I dig the 60a, but I'd go with an 89. It'll give you humbucker and single coil tones in one pickup.
