    Default Buying a double-neck : Agile or Epiphone ?

Ok guys, Im about to buy a double-neck for my Zepp tribute project.

Should I go for Epi or Agile ?

I think Agile would be the best bet, since they feature original specs woods (mahogany body with maple neck, opposed to maple/alder body with mahogany neck on EPI version). Agile are also cheaper new, with Grover tuners (EPI tuners suck).

    Any pros/cons ?

I've played a couple of the Epi's. Both were pretty well put together, but the pickups sounded like mud when cranked up, especially on the 12. I'd probably throw a Jazz set in there, and a 59 set in the 6.

    Never tried an Agile.

Good luck, and don't forget to get a nice padded strap for that mofo!

FWIW, Neither of those are "original Spec", the Gibson SG doublenecks have mahogany bodies AND necks with rosewood fretboards

i've seen a few older Epi double necks that are Plywood bodies.... watch out for that if you are buying used at all.....

I know it does not offer the look but the best double neck i've found for cheap is the OLP thing.... it is pretty good for the bucks, but not really Zeppelin like at all.... but for sound and playing the OLP i think is better then the Epi

Those OLPs are pretty nice, they're VERY heavy though, so you might want to watch out for that.
