To clarify things, mine's technically a Les Paul, but for all intents and purposes, it's an SG. I absolutely love the sound, feel, look, etc.... does anybody else prefer SGs to LPs?

Nope. I have owned 2 SGs and sold them both. Everytime I played them I would just be thinking to myself "Dang, for the money this could almost be a Les Paul." People seem to love them though. I don't think I like the reach to the lower frets.

I prefer SGs to Les Pauls, but I don't like humbuckers except in hollowbodies, so I'm judging the p-90 versions of the sg and les paul.

JB from hell and Big Black both love SG's and they are both VERY gay.
Does that mean flamming homo's LOVE SG's and if you have a SG you may be gay?????![]()

I own two Gibson SG Juniors. They're plain, simple, and to the point with their single equipped P-90. They're two of my favorite guitars that I own. I always have one of them out and ready to play.
I love my SG X!!!! Single bridge pup that you can coil tap, 1 tone, 1 volume, light, 24 frets. Awesome tone to die for no matter what pup I've had in it. It's simply the perfect gigging guitar. However, my Gothic SG is more of a Love/Hate relationship which may lead to its sale for a LP.
I'll have a Gibson Flying V straight into a Mesa, hold the BS please!!!!!
I absolutely love sg's. They sit on me PERFECTLY and have awesome snarly sounding mids. I wanted one of the faded ones for a while so I'd have an actual gibson but the neck felt stickier than glue- will be a bit before I shell out for a real gibson.

Do you think a little elbow grease (ie, steel wool and sandpaper) might have fixed the neck issue? I need to have a replacement in mind, in case my dad ever asks for this one back![]()
The thing I don't care for about SG's is the neck joint. I kinda play like a caveman, and whenever I'd get a little excited; I'd pull the guitar out of tune, for a spell. Other than that...it's a great guitar.

Here's my Jr.'s I cropped them from another pic. Not the best pics in the world, but they jam in person.

^ Cool guitars![]()

^ Is it a Les Paul Double Cut? They have notoriously weak neck joints

I have a SG Gothic that I bought about 4-5 years ago. I replaced the pickups and put an awesome mirror pickguard on it. I will tell you that I have not found a Gibson that I like better. I was given a $3,000 les Paul limited edition for christmas, I took it back. It was not as good as my SG. It is my go to guitar, I can always depend on it. It looks and sounds great. I plays fantastic and I have not found a guitar that plays better (or easier I guess). My only complaint is that it is top heavy (if I like the guitar hang, the headstock will fall towards the ground.
But as far as other SGs go, haven't really played on that I like much either.

Me? yall talkin to?

Yeah, Jolly, I was saying those two Jrs are cool.
I have a G-400 and I dig it. I would like to get a Gibson SG someday.
