    Default Copper base plate

Following my previous threads on the tele sound, and a few research on the SD website, I'd quite like to make a little experimentation...

How complicated would it be to create a copper base plate for my '59 bucker? What tools would I need to work a copper sheet to the proper size and get to fold it? Or would I have a similar tone response if I was just to add a flat copper plate between the original base plate and the magnet?

Copper is a non-ferrous material - It does not have magnetic properties.

The copper coated STEEL plates used by Lindy Fralin enhances the magnetic properties of their bridge pup in the same fashion that a Telecaster's bridge pup is enhanced.

The reason fo rthe copper coating (Electro-plating) is so that a wire can be solder to it for grounding purposes.

These plates need to be waxed potted to the bottom of the pup to avoid unwanted noise.

Would there be an easier to enhance the magnetic properties and therefore emulate the same effect on the sound?
