If you want a safe way to theme your XP machine then try InterfaceLIFT. They have written a replacement DLL which allows you to use non MS signed themes. Here's a link to their FAQ. BTW it's feee of charge and free of spy/malware.

We got Norton for free, and I don't pay the bills, AOL gets the job done, I don't care really.

Dude get rid of norton, seriously. Even a high end gaming rig gets bogged down by that ****. Get AVG.

I never bashed anyone in the Windows bashing thread. I don't see the difference to be honest. This PC runs fine as it is. I use it for the internet maybe 2 hours a day, then I may play Guild Wars or Football Manager every now and then, but thats it.
To be honest, I'm not big into computers at all. So long as it works, I take very little interest.

I have a pickup currently on my desktop. But I just usually keep it black with two icons, recycle bin and, err...., make that one icon. Simplicity.

Very well actually. I can play Oblivion without a hitch. Just a good computer?
Though, when this school year is over I'm completely reformatting everything, OS reinstall, complete system wipe etc.. and only putting a few games on so it'll be the speedy machine it used to be.

Funny, I almost never have to reinstall an OS because of Linux, mainly. I would literally stay on Slackware-Current (think of it as the very cutting edge development of software at that time, all programs at their most recent version) between Slackware 9 and 9.1, 9.1 and 10, 10 and 10.1, 10.1 and 10.2, and 10.2 to 11, only pausing this time to reformat and reinstall windows and linux (mainly because I finally found my CD key to Microsoft Office that I had uninstalled previously because I didn't have the key).
But I've had installations last for ages. I rarely use Windows anyways.
