So how much is it going to cost to fix the dent in the grille of your truck?

What? You mean that's not how you guys go hunting down south?!

I am vegetarian, but I might have a soft spot for game meats still....at least those are leaner than beef and pork.

    Looks like a good weekend!

We dropped him off at a deer processor to be chopped up. For $90 they will cut it up any way you want plus we are having 10 pounds made into sausage. They field dress him and skin him to where I can send him to the taxidermist.

I didn't eat him yet, but as soon as I get him back I plan on cooking up some deer steak that very night. It works great for me. i can bag a deer and he will last me two years. I basically don't have to buy any kind of meat ever. That's the cool thing about being the only one at my house. I can bag a deer once every two years to eat off of. Plus I still have plenty to give to friends!!!

cool deal looks like you had fun. i'm not a hunter (but not against it) my brothers, father and cousins are BIG hunters and my father and brother just got back from a hunt in Montana for mule deer and elk and my cousin from Maine on a moose hunt. he said moose meat is amazing and hopefully i'll get to try that. for all the anti-hunters if i took a picture of my fathers hunting room and office in the house you'd all pass out, it's like a petting zoo of wild animal heads LOL.

I can't believe you'd hunt a poor, defenseless animal with a high powered rifle you heartless monster. Why can't you at least go to the store and buy your meat instead of picking on animals running around in the wild?!?! I'm appalled!

BTW, I just sighted in my 30-06 yesterday.

Hell I'm a vegetarian and at least I recognize that deer and elk are healthier than the 80/20 stuff you buy at the grocer. And tastier, too (I've had my weaker moments )

At least it's healthier than livestock meat...though it may not be sustainable on a large scale due to the ways the landscape has changed

My G/F is way, way tougher than you, and she's a vegetarian.

You used camo and a high-powered rifle with a huge scope, and fired a bullet that travels several times the speed of sound and killed yourself a deer.

She used a Chevy Cavalier with the highbeams on traveling at 70 mph and got one. No contest.

I once thought I had mono for an entire year. It turned out I was just really bored.

Nuts! I thought this thread was gonna be about hitting all the local guitar shops and finding some real rare Holy Graille guitar stashed away in some mom & pop guitar shop. With pics yet! Ya let me down.

Congrats and glad you enjoyed the hunting trip.

Bummer man ... no big deal - I've seen the Ron White bit and that's what inspired my post.

Sorry to hear about your mono. That sucks.

This isn't a gun-hating, anti-hunting nazi post. I'm just curious... would an unarmed human actually stand a chance against a wild animal in a confrontation? I know a deer would just run off, but let's say you came across some other animal that was willing to fight. Ok, maybe all you have is a knife... that you actually made yourself (gotta account for all those years of evolving the ability to use tools).
Would you basically have to be a ninja, or John Petrucci, to pull it off?
