Default Saw Tool and Mastodon on friday

Yeah, title says it all. Mastodon were cool, looking forward to seeing them on a smaller headlining tour though, not really an arena band.

Tool on the other hand, filled that place with ease. Thanks in no small part to their show. Lazers lasers and more lasers. Really incredible stage show they put on. They opened with Stinkfist, the sound was perfect, MJK came on in this crazy neon orange hoodie, which of course lasted about 2 minutes. The way they pulled off everything live was impressive, they really are greatmusicians and work incredibly well as a whole. If you get the chance to see this tour do it, i had to pay a pretty penny for my tickets, but it was more than worth it. Wish Isis had been the support for this leg of the tour though, they don't come to the UK nearly often enough.

I saw them with Isis in Hartford in October. Isis were okay, they looked like they were giving it their all, but I didn't know or really dig the tunes and their live sound was pretty bad.

Tool on the other hand, was absolutely incredible. From the surgical precision of the playing to Maynard's dances, to the awesome laser display. The super-cricital Tool forumites said Hartford was an off night for them, but it still blew me away.

I saw Better Than Ezra, Bush, and Tool back-to-back-to-back on the same stage back in October 2001. It was an amazing show put on by all 3 bands. 3 of my all time favorite bands playing one after the other on the same night? It was indeed amazing.
