    Default American Chopper

    heya!

What do you guys think of the broadcast? I think it's very cool, some very neat bikes!

Are you guys bikers? I never drove a bike before but dang, it's tempting..although I don't have a licence.

It's like American Hot Rod... the show would be cool if they shut up and built something. I don't watch Discovery Channel for drama.

I wonder how far behind you guys are. The show sure doesn't have the buzz here that it used to. I think too many people got tired of the bickering. I sure did.

the show is nice when they are actually showing the bike and not the fights. I like the tools and machinery they use to build them, and the outcome is great most of the times.

I am not a biker (yet) but my father owns 36 bikes. Not all of them are great, some of them are just junk. i used to fix them and service them sometimes by myself or with some help.

When I watch american chopper I feel I need to go and service a bike... I end up in my room playing guitar!

It's funny sometimes when they argue

Rick, the other builder (forgot his name) and the painters got it down!! I really like the design stuff they come up with, great ideas.

I really like the colors/art the most on the tanks for example.

Yeah, like every job it can't be fun every day.

I'm far from owning a bike now but some day!

i watch american chopper and the fighting still gets a chuckle from me now and again. i'm just a car/bike junky so i watch all those shows. i've gotten paint ideas for my Clone guitars from various car shows on TV lol.

hands down the best is overhaulin' with Chip Foose...that man is an automotive super hero and the BEST of the BEST IMO!

Boyd on the other hand is a tool...i just don't like him, most of his cars or the way he runs his shop. hence why people keep quitting and going to work for Chip Foose lol.

And no, I'm not a biker, was going to become one but alas it's not fun to learn in an area where a lot of accidents happen, etc.

The bikes look even better in person.

Memorial Day weekend '04 they were in D.C. I was working for a friend who sells military insignia, sews patches on uniforms, that kind of stuff. He had a booth right across from the OCC trailer.

The only one I actually saw was Mikey the night they came in with their trailer. They rode in a parade then came by to sign autographs, but the crowd was so heavy I didn't see them. They brought the Fire, POW, Liberty, and Comanche choppers. I would have pictures of all of them, including a few of the Comanche bike hauling ass up and down the street in front of the State department building, but the treads on my film tore. I only managed to snap a couple of the Fire and POW bikes once I realized the problem, because they had put the others back in the trailer already.

Well I ride but I am not hardcore by any means. I have a Vulcan 800 that has been slightly chopped and headed towards a bobber. I am thinking about bobbing it out completely but I wouldn't mind selling it to get a used Yamaha Road Star or something like that next year. I'd really love to get a BMC Bobber or an HD Street Bob but those kind of bike dollars aren't realistic these days.

I don't think I have seen Amercian Chopper, is that the Redneck show or the OCC? I don't watch much TV so I am not sure.

I do like that show that Exile does with the 30 day build or bust scenario. Catch that one when I can.

show the bikes, show the painting process and be done with it.. if i want drama, i'll watch 7th heaven.

american hot rod SUCKS though. and dont get me started on that .. whats it again.. oh, the KUSTOMIZER!!! i want to stab that ****er repetedly.

I like American Chopper and I usually find the arguing kinda' funny, especially when Sr. gets so worked up that nearly every word he says has to be bleeped.

American Hot Rod does suck. It just doesn't have any real personality. The Teutuls have a chemistry that the jerk on AHR can't compare to.

I do ride. I bought a Suzuki Boulevard M50, an 805 cc cruiser last summer, and I've put 2500 miles on it already.

For you that want to start riding, if you decide to start, definitely take the beginning and intermediate rider safety classes from the local Motorcycle Safety Foundation affiliate. It could save your life - and they're fun.

I thought it was cool at first to see it, but now its sorta played out.

They need to make an "American Guitar" show. Some small custom shop trying to make it. I think that would be cool.

I like American Chopper. I don't watch it so much anymore, though, since they put it on Monday nights. I've been watching Monday Night Football instead.

My favorite bike that they built was the Lincoln bike that matched the new Lincoln truck that had just come out. The funny thing about that build was that Sr. and Jr. didn't argue very much, if at all, during those episodes.

I never got how American Hot Rod got renewed repeatedly. The format was alot the same but it just seemed passionless in regards to the vehicles; they're just punching in to crank out another unit.

American Chopper, as much as the downsides are there, I still find it entertaining. The bickering gets old, but some episodes get cut in a way that I think makes them better than others. The mix between bickering and the bikes is just right and I really enjoy it.
