    Default Speaking Of Orvilles......

I just acquired a very nice, flamey, honey colored Les Paul. I am amazed by the quality of this guitar! Definately lots of 'Bang for the Buck' with these. I recently upgraded the pickups with some Rio Grandes and this thing truly ROCKS!!!!!

If you can't afford a Gibson and still want a true, QUAILITY Les Paul I would suggest you look into these.

Shnikies, that looks awsome. What would you compare the neck to: 50's chunky or 60's thin?

Thanks guys. This is my first 'REAL' Les Paul and it is a true joy to play. I can definately tell the difference between it and the Epi Paul that I had a few years ago. It's hard for me to pick up my Gibson Faded SG now.....not near as much fun to play as the Orville!

Ummmm.....No photo-flame here! Real Maple top with Mahogany body.

The neck is not quite a 50's chunck and not slim either.....more of a medium I guess.

Rio Grande Pickups (Cream/Black): BBQ bridge & Genuine Texas neck.

I traded a buddy of mine for this guitar (it was a little lopsided trade on my end but I really wanted the guitar!) and he had taken out the Orville pups and slid these in. The photos were taken by my buddy prior to me getting it so it has the Orville pups in the pic. I was wanting to go back to chrome covered SD pups but this thing just simply ROCKS! and I'm afraid to mess with it now.

Nearly all Orvilles were photo flame on a maple cap and most of the rest were a maple veneer on a maple cap. Only a few of the "59 reissues" had no veneer/photo-flame. And from my research even that seems to be a debatable point by many of the orville fans

    regardless, nice top

I need to learn to play well enough to do justice to this guitar and not embarrass myself!

Lovely - my new Orville has relegated the Gibson to the bench. They really are that good IMO. Enjoy her.
