I thought that since I've got some time to kill between loads, I'd show you guys where I work. I spend about 10 months out of the year in my truck. It is home away from home.
This is a shot of my pull-out desk where I do all of my down-time paperwork and, as you can see, my web surfing. Yes,that's the SD Forum up on the screen.
This is the other side of the sleeper berth. I've got the combo TV/DVD player and some additional storage at the foot of the bunk.
Here is an angle that gives you a little idea of the space inside. I'm 6 foot tall and there's enough room for me to stand up without hitting my head.
Here's a shot of the driver's controls. That big clutch has a lot of tension on it. It's easy to get a sore knee when you have to go through start and stop traffic.
This is my truck; a 2006 International i9400 with a Cummins turbo diesel. 525 HP with 1790 foot lbs of torque.
Here's the full shot. 75 feet of tractor and trailer. I can haul up to 80,000 lbs (40 tons). Don't jump in front of me and hit your brakes!
I took all of these pictures in Raphine VA at White's Truck Stop.
Well hope you liked the nickel tour.![]()
