i used to love SRV, but i got so sick of I IV V blues rock shuffles that i can't stand it anymore.....just cheesy and repetitive after too many doses of SRV rockabilly style licks....

lenny, pride and joy, mary had a little lamb, cold shot....they're all I IV V blues patterns, and that's not half of them. I respect SRV as a player, his hands/feel, and what he did for blues rock guitar (sometimes i regret what he did for blues rock guitar because now thats all people play at blues/rock bars anymore), but it's a tiresome style.

That is amazing... I would never have believed it.. .but his tone is definitely in his hands.. it is a little more honky in the midrange than normal IMHO, but it still sounds great and I have to agree.. most tone comes from the hands...

Wow... how does he make that tele sound like his strat? Does he have a SRV modeling pedal hooked up? Are those special SRV-Tone pickups?

    Maybe it's his cable?
