    Default About Colors

    Hey,

I know you can order SD pickups in other colors besides black, white etc. Like yellow, green, red and blue but can you order a pickup that is something like blue on one side and black on the other? Like zebra but the cream is a different color.

where could I buy a different colored Duncan from?

    thanks

I am guessing that is a Seymour Duncan Custom Floor model. I would think a good retailer like Lew or Blackrose could do an order like that. Not sure if there is an upcharge for a non-standard color, or maybe just a delay for you to get your pickups ordered in the color needed.
Hopefully they might catch this thread and be able to help out further.

If you read the pickup descriptions off of the SD main site you'll see that there are some mixed colors available and you can probably get any mix of the available colors on most to the Std HBs. The Dime and PA pickups are only available in black.

I have an RG 550 with a black/red JB in the bridge, a black JB jr in the middle and a red/black 59n. It's pretty cool looking.

Any SD dealer can get the answer for you, or you can call the SD company directly for specific colors on specific pickups. At the worst, it's a floor shop custom and thats generally not pricey what-so-ever.

It would be cool to get a Gold pole piece version. I don;t know if they have a pickup that has the 6 gold slugs though.

I have a double cream C-5/PGn set that have both gold studs and posts. I bought them from the custom shop in the summer of 2001 and they are my pride and joy. I can't help you with whether or not they could be ordered as a floor shop custom or if they are strictly a CS item, but gold posts and studs are available.

I think red/black full shred neck would be sweet in my cherry see through explorer.

    thanks

Blackrose can order those for you. On my other computer I had a page where he posted his custom color pickups. Black/White instead of Black/Cream...Blue with gold posts...cream with gold posts...you name the combo it can be done.

Colored bobbins can be mixed and matched as long as you stay with the standard available bobbin colors. Gold Screws and studs are also no problem. I believe they run $10.00 extra. Double adjustable bobbins are another option I do quite a bit....
