Default Need help ASAP with Ibanez wiring!!

I have this Ibanez, EX 1700, Im wiring it up for a gig tonite.

It has the Hum Single Hum configuration, and a 5 way switch.

I replaced the 2 humbuckers with duncans, an invader and a jazz.

When I looked at the wiring on the switch, it seemed pretty straight forward: it has 8 leads, the first three are for hot outputs from the pickups, the next one is empty, and then another 3 ground wires from the pickups, and the last lead being an output to the pots.

I insulated the white and red wires for the duncans, and attached the black and green to their corresponding leads on the switch, but I cannot get the humbuckers to work. I even reveresed polarities and that didnt do the trick. The only positions I can get to work are the middle, which is for the middle single coil, and the 4th position, which seems to be an out of phase bridge pickup with the single coil.

First, does anyone know how the switch is normally configured to work? Which switch position does what?

And second, does anyone know what I am doing wrong?

    Thanks for the help!

Sorry man. I only have time for the quick-&-dirty answer. Here's how that switch works:

I'll try to get to more detail this weekend.

Edit: Ignore the "neck, middle, bridge" labels. The "1's" connect to common 1, and the "2's" connect to common 2. Make sense?

Thanks for that diagram, I think I wired it correctly, but which is the hot and which is the ground for that diagram, would 1 correspond to the black hot output of a sd pup, and 2 correspond to the green ground?

It looks like the common 2 on this guitar does not have any wire on it... Could this be a problem?

    Thanks

There is no "hot" and "ground". Its just a mechanical switch. When the handle is in the "neck" position, neck 1 is connected to common 1, neck 2 is connected to common 2, and so on and so forth.
