BigBlack - It's not a direct quote but more of a paraphrase. Hence I didn't credit anyone in particular.
Flank - Just because you say you're tolerant or pro-something, it doesn't automatically make it true.
I suddenly converted to Islam last night after wiping my backside with the holy Koran. I'm now an authority on all things relating to Islam.
Do you believe me?

does it make it automatically false either? If you're going to debate on the internet and question/assume other people's feelings in the process, then good luck with that. I tend to go by whats typed, not my inclinations about what i think another person "might" actually be saying, believing, feeling. If you start playing that game, it causes alot of problems. Actually, this thread is a terrific example of this in action.

I still don't get the Kerry reference.

It's like someone going to a cross burning ritual on a black man's front lawn and claiming he's only there to roast marshmallows. :j/k:
Actually it's like the athiest who sued to have the pledge of allegiance removed from public schools, because it contains the words "under God", claiming that he's not anti-Christian. "Fish don't know he's wet" - George Clinton.

Just Because i don't want to be or called a Christian do not mean i am against them!!!Your Logic fails in that very point!
We are NOT bashing Christianity .we are bashing Fundies ,their ignorance ,violent and filthy tiny brain ,bigotry and insanity.X 1000000
So can we just move on?

Some 'people' believed that the American people came from the English people at some point in history. If this is true, why are the English still there?
My Grandaddy was no Englishman.
Scientists say that America seperated from England in 1776, but my beliefs say America was divinely created in 1905. There isn't enough time to populate and build up a country in 102 years.
House dating methods are only estimations so any houses scientists claim are older than 102 years are wrong.
The chances of 300 million people just suddenly deciding to be american is so unlikely as to be impossible. Thus, America was divinely created.
You still didn't really answer my question. Were you paraphrasing the "anti-Christian" non-Chrisatians or were you paraphrasing the "anti-Christian" Christians who responded? Timmy and I are on the same page with this. He's a Christian, I'm not..are we both anti-Christian?
I'm seriously confused with your logic. It's kind of hard to call this Christian-bashing when several of the Faith have sided against these "Fundie"-types. Do you think they are self loathing or something? Help me out here...
The only sense I can make out of this is that you are siding with people rather than ideas you beleive in.

I can't take the time to summarise what Gr8Scott and I (and others, including even Bee) have been saying all along, but it's there for the reading. It's about the statistical consistency of some on the board and their seemingly emotionally driven tendency to over and over again attack only one side (through a variety of threads), without any balance in attacking other sides, despite the presence of nuttiness on all sides' extremes (incl the 'mainstream' Vice-Pres candidate example I provided).
There's heavy irony in both sides if they're inconsistent.
This thread is not being held up as an exclusive example, that's simply not the issue. And as I pointed out earlier, this may not necessarily refer to you (I recalled the taxi thread, for one), so if the cap does not fit, then don't feel the need to start attacking the cut of the hat, just leave it for the ones it fits.
As mentioned, it's all been described earlier in the thread.

There's never been a more appropriate time for that horse-beating emoticon, despite how much I hate it.
Oh yeah, and this is the part of the thread where people less attached to the discussion start posting worthless replies about how pointless it's gotten.
I'm not assuming anything about you. I'm looking at what you're posting and I'm addressing what you're writing. We're dealing with your points and we're answering your questions. We aren't going off topic much either.
Now, THERE'S an example of going off topic.
(Btw, he wasn't refering to the soldiers.)
I see LesStrat's comments as insensitive and rude, and his aren't the worst. If a Christian can say "I'm right and you're wrong!", why can't an Atheist or Agnostic say "I'm right and you're wrong!"?
